60 Years ago the American Rat Terrier was the dog of farms and barns. Now, people are finding the Rat Terrier, and there cousins the American Hairless Terrier to be the perfect dog for the neighborhood. Rats and AHT's are small in size, very hardy, loving, loyal, intelligent dogs that fit nicely into the standard lot size of today's suburban yards. They are great companions, willing to go on that extra long hike in the woods or content to sit at home with their people and watch TV. These sturdy little dogs are great when raised with children - in fact, they may quickly become a child's best friend. They are highly trainable and love to please. The short, or no ha and excellent health make them trouble free... no expensive grooming, that's for sure.
Their intelligence and mischievous nature will always keep you laughing!
